The Agreement begins with public performances that consist of one-on-one conversations between the artist and one audience member at a time, from anywhere in the world, conducted in person or the best way to participate from afar is to call 716-218-0760. These conversations uncover something for which the audience participant seeks support. The artist and the audience participant create an agenda defining terms of support, which are written on a prepared form, titled The Agreement. The Agreements are publicly displayed, where they may be exchanged between participants who are initially strangers. Support may be conducted and an issue resolved in the moment of initial performance, or the support relationship may continue for up to 6 months, which is project managed by the artist. Over the 3 days, the artist and participants build an installation that represents the declared value of support, and geographic distance between each participant pair. Together, the artist and participants erase political, geographic, and social obstructions through statements of need and acts of support.
