In A Conversation About Trucks, participants are asked to interact with a scripted conversation in one of three ways; by listening, reading, or performing the provided dialogue. These reenactments dilute words similar to how they are diluted throughout everyday life, like a complex version of telephone. The project was conceptualized after overhearing a conversation between two gentlemen in an airport. These men discussed their plans and duties once they returned home, which included repairs on an old truck. Details of this brief encounter were vaguely recorded, and then passed on to two actors who were asked to recreate the interaction completely through improvisation.
