Are the days of the book numbered? Students in the Books and Images class at UNCG will each make a book in response to the theme of “NUMBER” and each of the books will be displayed at a public reading nook.

Sheryl Oring is an interdisciplinary artist whose work examines critical social issues through projects that incorporate both old and new media to tell stories, examine public opinion and foster open exchange. Oring’s work has been shown at the 01SJ Biennial in San Jose, CA, Bryant Park at The New York Public Library and the McCormick Freedom Museum in Chicago. She has also presented work at Art in Odd Places in New York and at the Art Prospect public art festival in St. Petersburg, Russia. Presently, Oring is working on a public art commission at the San Diego International Airport. She is an Assistant Professor of Art at UNCG.
Harriet Hoover is a multidisciplinary artist whose practice is concerned with connecting the past and present with the personal and social through sculpture, performance, and curatorial endeavors. She received her MFA from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.
